The Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) is an electric motor that uses permanent magnets to generate the magnetic field, widely used in applications requiring high efficiency and precise control. Its key feature is that the rotor and stator magnetic fields rotate at the same speed, meaning the rotor speed is synchronized with the stator field frequency, ensuring efficient energy conversion.

Compared to traditional asynchronous motors, PMSMs offer higher efficiency and power density, as the rotor does not require current to generate a magnetic field, thereby avoiding current losses. Permanent magnet materials such as neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) are commonly used, enabling the motor to generate a stronger magnetic field in a compact form factor.

PMSMs are widely applied in electric vehicles, power tools, air conditioners, robotics, and other automation systems. They provide precise speed control, lower noise levels, higher starting torque, and reduced energy consumption. Additionally, PMSMs can be controlled with a variable frequency drive (VFD), making them adaptable to various operating conditions and supporting energy-efficient solutions.
