The last few years have seen electric motors as the focal point of innovation in numerous areas such as industrial automation, electric vehicles, smart logistics, and construction machinery. The trends now are degree of smart motor control; electric motors can be optimized for speed regulation, load sensing in real time, self-diagnostics, and remote supervision when integrated with a motor controller and sensor system. Therefore, motors can be used for intelligent, and safer applications, for both automated applications and unmanned applications. There is a clear migration toward modular design or integrated designs and preference for systems that combine motors, controllers and gearboxes, to lower the complexity of motor systems, and add reliability.
On an international basis, OEMs, and industrial operators, across Asia, Europe, and North America, are moving higher performance metrics for their motors (higher reliability, service life, better EMI suppression, and IP65 or higher) this presents challenges and opportunities for Chinese motor suppliers to develop their overseas businesses.
The motor industry will continue to transition toward cleaner, more efficient, and smarter mechanical solutions.
